Disappointed today. Yesterday I didn't run because I couldn't even walk that's how sore my calfs were. Today they weren't as bad so I decided to run and maybe I shouldn't have eaten McDonald's today. I had very low energy. After today I'm going to avoid fast good for a while. I could have done better, but I know were I made mistakes so I can improve for tom.

Day 2: just finished running, super tired. Feel better than yesterday, today's run was better because I'm getting back on track. Calfs are a bit sore from yesterday, but that's normal. Had a good run, sweating like crazy. My body is getting used to working out again,

Workout

Today's workout, it's been awhile since a ran. It's been so cold outside and just haven't gotten out to do it. But I pushed myself to start again. The first 5 mins were great felt super strong, the next the next 25 mins were pushing myself to make it to the end without giving up. The last 2 seconds were victory, that I made it. It was a hard day, glad I got back to it. Going to start the daily rountine again. 7 days before school starts.

Fitness Tuesday


Fitness on Tuesday was pretty fun. I enjoyed it, because it gave my muscles a good stretch. After fitness my face was burning red I could feel the heat. My thighs were sore for 2 days after that I couldn't walk or sit properly. My legs got some great exercise and I felt very engerized during the fitness. I found the squats and lunges two of the most important exercises of that day. I enjoyed this fitness activity because I got a leg workout. Most workouts I do require mostly leg movement because that's the most important part of my body I like to get worked out.

Interm

This year so far has been amazing. My fitness has changed throughout the past few months, just like my goals. This year im focusing on getting 10 on the beep test, because every exercise I do, every workout I do inside and outside of school is all to improve my speed. I have been collecting evidence since the first fitness we have had, and I try to post all my fitness days on my blog and I make sure to also add my outside of school workouts. I don’t need to say anything that I cant prove with my pictures. You can see what I have done, what I do, and how I’ve improved throughout the year so far. I try to stay fit as possible because its only going to benefit me. The more fit I stay, I feel like the less junk food I eat, because I know there no point its only going to make it harder for me to do well. I try to do whats best for my fitness, but my health is important too. So I be careful to not go overboard. My only weakness is my health because I have very low iron, and asthma. Besides those two things, I only have strengths that push me to do my best. I am determined and I will do what I can to improve my fitness because I know I am capable of it. I want last year to be my push to do better this year. Last year I didn’t really care as much, but now I want it for myself. When I want something I will go all out. My main goal is by the end of this year to get 9.5 on the beep test. Because everything I do is based on my beep test score I know I can achieve it. All my running, biking, and cardio exercises are all to prepare for the beep test. Its so I can get better, and improve. By june ill be able to see if I have achieved my goal or not. I do 30 min running, I also bike for 30 mins and my cardio workout is 25 mins. I have a week schedule I don’t do everything at once, I try to do two out of three each day. I try to bring positive energy towards the class, and I always push my friends to do their best. I always do everything to the best of my ability, with no excuses. I try to help out by putting equipment away or taking it out for the class. I eat healthy because I want to be fit, and after you start pushing yourself to work out and you try so hard. Eating junk food feels worthless because all your hard work and sweat goes down the drain. I have never been more fit before, and I have only started lets see what I can do by the end of this year. For work habits I give myself a G, because im always prepared as you can see. And for a letter grade I would give myself an A.

Beep test #2

The second beep test of the year! When people usually hear, we are doing the beep test. They try to find excuses out, or complain. I am not going to lie in my head when I hear the word beep test, I freeze. Im so used to not wanting to do it, because last year I wasn't as fit as this year, so I didn't want to do the beep test. I found it very difficult, now I might say uggh. because its tiring I also like to do it because then I see if ive improved or not. Most people i noticed while i was running this time stopped at 6 or even before 6. i was surprised, but i kept going. Because i know im capable of much more than that. I want to improve, succeed, and stand out. My beep test score shows me if my fitess level is increasing, decreasing or the same. This beep test I got 8.3. which I was really happy about because my last beep test was 7.4. so I basically almost went up a whole number if only I got 8.4. Im really proud of myself, because this shows my outside running, biking, and cardio workouts are paying off. The most part of my body I work out is my quads, hamstrings, and calves. This helps me gain speed, and long distance running. I do cardio to make my body used to hardcore exercises so I can last longer while im running. The more energy I have the better. This year I have really improved which is great, because i have really low iron. So i get out of breath easily, and tired really fast. And on top of that i have asthma, but im working my way around those things. Because being fit makes a strong body. I did not take a picture this time, because i didn't have my ipod with me that day. But im pretty sure you saw how i looked. My face was burning red, and i was out of breath. I kept going until i felt like i was going to collapse. Next time i'll get a picture for sure. I beat my goal from last beep test to this beep, because i always want to get one number higher. I went from 7.4 to 8.3 and now i will try 9.1 or maybe if i can 9.5. Lets see how it goes, im proud of myself.

Hill run

Sept 10 was the first hill run of the year. I personally hate running up hills because its hard but it does stretch the muscles out and gives you strength. It builds up courage and determination. I went up 8 times my goal is to get 10 by the end of the year, I tried really hard and I was really sweaty me and jeevin were running together because we have around the same fitness level and we both pushed each other to our very best. It was very exhausting, I'm glad I got 8 but I know next time I will get 10 for sure.

Fitness outside of school

This was what I did for the week (sept 9-13) outside of school workout a run twice for 35 mins, I pushed myself to the limit at points I felt like my legs were gonna fall off. I am trying to increase my fitness level that's my goal of the year!

Sept 6 beep test

My first beep test of this year so far! Surprisingly I was actually looking forward to it because I have been training and exercising all summer to get fit, so I wanted to see if I got better. In June my beep test score was 6.7 and throughout the summer from all the work it finally became 7.4. I am proud I haven't gotten better, because I have worked really hard. It's a good starting point I am going to continue running and exercising to get more fit. I want to increase my fitness level this is just the beginning of a great year, I still have way more records to break for myself and goals to achieve. This years is all about becoming fit and staying fit.

final

Throughout this whole year my fitness has had its ups and downs. It was a bumpy ride and honestly I don’t know what I deserve as my final grade. I have always attended class, I haven’t missed a single day unless I was away sick. I always try my best, and I know my best isn’t going to be the same best as the fastest person in this class because we all have different fitness levels. We all have different limits and different goals to achieve. I only try to beat myself, because only I can do that. Let use my beep test for an example my first score was 6.4 then by the beginning of the year it went to 8.6 and then my latest beep test score was 6.7 As you can see, with that score you would think my fitness level decreased but the truth is I know my body can’t handle what it could handle a few months ago. My iron is very low like extremely its 8, when its suppose to be 50. I have to energy to work out or run. I run out of breath easily, and I get tried really fast. I feel like collapsing, sometimes while running. Another example is for the community run, I got 28.50 I was really proud of myself because it was my best and I tried really hard. But apparently that score was so close to 45 which is what people walked it at. I am disappointed at myself sometimes but i always try my hardest. I always stay positive and keep my friends on track as well. I think I deserve an A, but maybe a B because my fitness did go down. I will continue to get my iron high and get back in shape so I can get healthier and more fit.

p.e thursday may 23
This was the day of the carnival when you werent present and the "majority" of the class wasnt doing anything.
We started off by playing capture the flag, and Baneet and i made a couple rounds to the other side, and managed to get some flags, and we got caught at some points. The whole class had i think a good 20 mins of actually playing, then i dont know what happened but everyone just stopped and sat down. Now its common sense to know you dont just do that in gym. So as everyone started to stop and began to sit down, Baneet, Prabhneet and i went to the T.A's and asked whats wrong. They said no one is doing anything and we cant deal with this. So the three of us grab a rugby ball and started playing pass to each other to cont. because the rugby balls were all we had. About half way through gym Allen brought some soccer balls, so we took those and started taking shots on each other to keep our body moving. To be honest we didnt sit down, and we didnt give up. We are here to do gym not sit around. I was pretty happy that day, actually all three of us were because we didnt give up!

Overall from march to may i think my fitness level is about the same. I have always tried my best, and sometimes you gotta leave your friends behind, and run at your best not theirs. I have pushed myself to the limits. And sometimes i do give up, when i know i cant do something, but i try to do it to the best of my ablities. The past fitesses have been great, and i try to stay fit outside of school, and get a workout going. I think its great to keep in shape, because its just 10 less problems in the future. I know i might not be the fastest or strongest in the class, but honestly im only trying to beat myself. Because i know what i am capable of and my body cant do everything.

On fitness friday we had to do this circuit thing outside in a group of 7-9. I thought it was a good workout because it wasnt based on just running, it had a little bit of everything in it. From arms, all the way to legs, i think my body got a workout. It was a wide variety, and i really enjoyed it.

During P.E this semester, I have shown a variety of things, from preparedness to positive attitude. I obviously come prepared to class, with my strip. And I show a lot of determination, and I am willing to try my best. No matter how challenging or hard an activity is. I give my 100 percent probably the majority of the time. I am not going to lie, sometimes I just feel like I don’t want to do it. But I don’t let that stand in my way. After all my gym class is period 4, the last class of the day. When everyone is tried and we just want to go home. Even though I try all the time my overall best efforts are usually on fitness days because, push myself to the limits and I can stretch my fitness strength to get better, because I can compare to my other fitness days. I bring good energy into this class and I am really good and interacting with other students (especially my friends). My challenging but yet favourite fitness activity is the beep test because I push myself every time to do higher than I did before and I always end up getting there. And every other fitness day helps me prepare for that one day. For this year my fitness goal is to get 9.3 on the beep test, because I know I am capable of doing it, but I need practice. Leadership means taking action into your own hands and leading everything to success. I think the best leaders in our class our probably for me it’s my friends because they push me to my limits and give that extra push that it takes to be at the top. I think the one thing I need to improve on is my fitness level, because I know I can do better but I am not able to go as far as I wish I could. I am proud of everything I achieve in gym as an active learner. I think I deserve a G and an A, and for the reasons above.

Modified Beep Test 21
The modified beep test, was different compared to the last time we did it. Last time it was 1 run 3 breaks and now it was 1 run 1 break. So it was more challenging but obviously, i was up for it. It was pretty good. I kept my pattern and i think i should work on my speed, and keeping up with runnging for a long period of time.

 Insanity
On Friday we did insanity as our fitness activity. Which was great for me, because i love insanity. I didnt rest, when i felt tired, and i didnt go get water, when i was thirsty. I maintained by focus and speed as well as force and power. Even though i cant do push up, so when it came to that part instead of waiting or stretching, i planked. That was probably one of the biggest things, i couldnt do, and it didnt come in my way at all. I was really worked up, if only i had taken a photo, but i will next time.

Hill run for me was just to much, i dont think i can handle running up hills. Its always been my disadvantage like in the beginning of the year, when we went to the grass area and ran up that, in sections of 3. It was hard, but this was harder, i think its because i cant take the pressure of the hill pushing down on me. I would rather run a flat surface, but then your body doesnt get that pressure and force building up. This fitness wasnt my best, and im not really proud of it. But i will get better at hill runs.

Pond Run
One the day of the pond run, the weather wasnt that bad. It was a bit chilly at first but once that whistle blew and i started run. You didnt feel cold at all, infact you felt hot. For this fitness day i tried to keep the patteren of 1 min run and 1 min walk but sometimes, when i ran so hard my chest would really hurt (asthma) which only gets bad when im sick. But i still ran, and then i took a 1 min and 15 sec break. That was when i couldnt handle the speed at which we were going, but overall i was 1 min on and 1 min off.And when we had a break to walk, i would walk really slow, i think it was because i was tired, because i ran. Overall it was a good fitness day, and i tried as hard as i could!

Question for active learning!

 


During PE this year, how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate?
In a variety of activities? 
During PE this year I have shown that I am prepared in many ways. For example I never missed a single class, even if I feel a little sick. I am always willing to do my best, and try my hardest. I also have never come into class without my gym strip. Wearing proper gym strip is one of the keys to a good workout because you can do more physical things. People only invented gym strip because there was a difference then just wearing normal clothes.  Even if there are sports that I don’t like to play I still play and except the fact that I don’t always get my choice. I also make daily goals to achieve, like for an example if we were doing the beep test my goal would be to get 9.5 because last time I got 8.6. I always try to improve on the areas I know I can improve at. I also go on daily walks/runs, I bike and treadmill. I drink a lot of water (my goal daily is 4L) because it is really healthy and it is great for your body. Water is a great source of energy. I try to stretch a lot to maintain my physical shape. Stretching helps me because there is a less chance of hurting myself while doing an exercise if I am warmed up. I always try to push other to join along if they are sitting down but most importantly I push myself!

 On what days have you participated to your best effort and Why? 
I always try to do my best, but my best gym days would be probably the Beep Test days. Just because of all my workouts, runs and etc. they are all to improve my score and I went from 6.4 to an 8.6 and now I want to aim to go to a 9.5.

 What days have been a struggle for you and why?

There wasn’t really a day when I had a struggle but when I had a wart on my foot. And I could barely walk, yeah that time. To run and go up hills and stuff was tremendously hard. As the wart went I got better at my physical education. And now I have no troubles. So I can give my absolute 100 % and meet my goals.

 How do you contribute to the overall success of the class? 

I contributed pretty well in this class because I tried to lend a hand to anyone in need. If stuff needed to be put away I would help out and do it. I also encouraged others to help when help was needed. Having me in this class is like having a person that is helpful, determined and also ready to just do it.

 What kind of attitude do you bring and why?

I am a very negative person when it comes to my life. I will always think the bad thing instead of the good positive side. But not for my education and gym, I think positive as much as I can. If I want to achieve something then my outcome is always positive. I tend to think positive so my attitude is positive. For example I encourage others to help clean up and also to participate.
How do you interact with other students in our class?

I interact well with other students in my class, and especially well with my friends. I don’t get distracted by talking, I still participate. I may have had sometimes where I talk a lot but that never stops my work, I will always be doing the lesson, or whatever we are learning. (Multitasking)

 Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself
Physically? 

I push myself because I always try to improve, so I make goals. For example my beep test first it was 6.4 I worked and worked and then I got 8.6. My fitness increases each fitness day because my workout and my routines help. If I want to achieve something, I will do everything to achieve it. Example run faster longer, stretcher farther, exerciser longer.

 What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most? 

My favourite fitness activity is probably the one where it’s like a circuit and you have to jump over this thing, and run up the stairs and stuff. I like this activity the best because this has a variety of movement and also a variety of fitness level. For example this helps upper legs and lower legs. This increases my heart rate really fast, and I am active for a long time.

 Goals do you have for the rest of the year?

My fitness goals will always change as the year goes on and also if I get injuries but for now one goal I have is to get 9.5 on the beep test. This goal requires training and time, which I am willingingly to do to achieve it. But I know I have what it takes, and the next beep test will be 9.5. I like to aim high and practice, so when I get there it will be because of my hard work and determination.

 What does "leadership" mean to you?

Leadership to me means to encourage everyone to participate, to help around. And also to lead activates and not being afraid to try new things. To show you have leadership you should be determined and ready. A person taking charge and leading is one way of being a leader.

 Who are the best leaders in our class - why?

The best leader in our class was Tyler he would always push us and tell us to get working. He would encourage us and help us when we needed it. He was a great role model and a tremendous leader in our class.

 What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year? 

I would like to make many improvements like speaking up in class. Getting faster on the beep test is definitely one as well. I also want to change as a person and become better and healthier. I want to keep my body physically and mentally fit.

 What are you the most proud of so far?
I am most proud of how good I am doing so far in gym this is a great start and I just hope to keep improving!

 
Finally, what letter grade A, B, C+, C, C- (gulp) best represents the effort you just described?

I think A because I have always shown I can do well but also improve ex beep test 6.4 to 8.6. I always participate, I have my gym strip with my at all times. I always try to help. And I find a way to stay fit. I have activates that I do outside of school to help me improve.
